I won’t call them goals. They will be achieved, somehow, someway. The journey for implementing most of this plan will not be all that interesting. Here are the big components for the 2010 plan.
- Max out my 401(K) with my employer
- Max out my Roth IRA
- Build enough extra income that I can still survive
Building that income will be things that you hear me blog more about this year. If i can make extra income, that means you can as well.
Additionally, I will be working on becoming a better blogger, which sounds vague and broad, but i have a map written out on how i plan to achieve this. If it works, the results will be noticeable and i will write one of those “How to be a successful blogger” articles.
I hope everyone had a happy and safe new year.

You might consider being more specific with goal 3 (specific amount). Go to http://www.enemyofdebt.com for good advice about actionable steps toward a goal.
Have a great 2010.
Good luck. I agree with Ken, try to think of a specific number you want to increase side income. Will help you stay more motivated if it’s specific.
I think, for me, having a list written down is critical. It makes it real to me. Good luck in 2010!
@Moneymonk – glad you enjoyed it.
@Ken – working on a specific amount, but i haven’t figured all of my upcoming expenses, and until i have a number, i am just going to work hard to make it happen. I am thinking about $700-$1000 extra a month outside my part time job and career.
@Craig – what i said to Ken goes double for you Craig
@Mrs. Money – Agreed. Thats why i had to at least write down part one and two. Those will be a big challenge taking up over 1/3rd of my base income.
